1 yellow cake mix, plain
1 box (4 oz.) instant vanilla pudding
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 1/3 cup water
2 cups ground black walnuts
1 cup ground black walnuts
1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 box (4 cups) powdered sugar
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla
Heat oven to 350°.
In large bowl, mix the above ingredients (except black walnuts) until well blended, add the black walnuts, then add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix well. Pour batter into 3 8-inch or 9-inch greased and floured baking pans.
Cream the cream cheese, butter, vanilla until smooth. Slowly add powdered sugar, fold in black walnuts. Spread on cooled cake.
